I love the work of DeeDee Cheriel (above) whom is showing right now at White Walls in San Fransisco. I really enjoy her earlier work, and her website shows a wonderful progression leading up to her most recent pieces. Her current work slightly reminds me a little of both Richard Colman's paintings, who has also shown at White Walls in the past, and of Clare Rojas.
Folk and Native American art imagery such as geometric shapes; diamonds, triangles, squares and bars paired with animal/human imagery seems to be a common theme being explored by many artists right now. Some of my work has definately had similar compositional elements inspired by folk art and nature.
