A Little Weather

A few years ago, I was a first time student at Penland School of Crafts. I met some lovely people whom I have maintained regular correspondence with and lasting friendships. Recently, my lovely friend Jessica Green resurfaced out-of-the-blue and I was delighted when I opened my inbox one morning to a message from her. Jess was a first time weaver from NYC when I met her at Penland. Since that fateful summer, Jess has lived in Oregon where she refined her weaving skills, hearded goats and cultivated a love for the handmade. Now she has made the move to Asheville where she lives in a sweet little cabin, homesteading with her sweetheart. She keeps a weaving practice at The Marshall High Studios in Marshall NC, an old highschool on an island in the French Broad River that was turned into artist studios a few years back.

Jess has been working hard building her new weaving business, A Little Weather
and oh me, oh my! How beautiful her weaving has become! Reviving the traditional Overshot technique, Jessica's blankets and coverlets are stunning.
I am so thrilled to be able to pay Jess a visit later this year and check out her lovely new space and life in Appalachia. In the meantime, if you are looking for an extra special holiday gift please consider the gift of a handwoven blanket made with all US sourced fibers by A Little Weather. They are of impeccable quality and will last a lifetime.
