Finding inspiration in the place I live; if I make myself stop seeing things as they are and strip them down to shapes, colors, and lines the whole neighborhood begins to open up to me as a playground of elements to borrow for embroideries and drawings.

Scallops show up in a lot of my drawings.

The shape of Wicker Park fountian is gorgeous and very interesting. Especially when it is on.

I like the symmetry in this fence. I have been very inspired by geometric shapes lately. I continuously inspired by decorative arts, quilts, building facades and the simplests design in someone's fence.

It's hard to photograph stained glass but the colors in this window were brilliant, although it doesn't show through here. I love the segments and fragmented picture a stained glass creates.
