News + Notes
The Tokyo Hotel in downtown Chicago is a 15 story 150 room building that was built in 1927. This year it is being redeveloped as The Freehand Hotel Chicago and is slated to reopen in 2015. I had the pleasure of visiting the historic site for a meeting to see the model rooms for the new hotel, Herron has been hired to make 150 bed pillows. Sampling for this project has been enormously exciting and I am overjoyed to be making such a contribution to what I hope is a wildly successful Chicago hotel.
In other news, we have a new class up next month at Humboldt House, a basic tapestry weaving class and you can register at herronclothier.com, yarns and lap looms are included!
You will also find me teaching a weaving workshop Aug 10-12 at ACRE Artist Residency in Wisconsin. I am so excited to have been invited and am looking forward to it.
