*NEW* Light Forms: Basketry for Sculptural Lighting Design Sept 4, 11, 18, 25
In this 4-week fiber design course, we’ll explore basketry as a method for crafting sculptural lighting. Using basketry reed and gauged wire, participants will design and build lightweight armatures to serve as the base for woven pendant lights, lanterns, or wall-mounted forms. Through hands-on exploration of material, structure, and translucency, participants will create one fully realized structure for lighting that merges traditional techniques with contemporary design. This workshop invites experimentation at the intersection of craft, utility, and atmosphere.
