Explore the poetics of mending through this hands-on workshop focused on repairing and reimagining damaged or discarded weavings. Participants will use scraps, broken forms, and leftover studio materials to develop sculptural responses to loss, care, and continuity.

Instructor: Dee Clements
Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025
Time: 10 am-3 pm
Location: The Weaving Workshop, 3022 W Cermak Rd, Chicago
Tuition: $250 includes all materials

Techniques Covered: Twining, lashing, patching, visible mending, stitching, fiber wrapping, binding

Materials: Bring your own damaged weaving, textile, or basket. Provided: fabric scraps, fiber remnants, binding thread, wire, paper, scissors, glue, raffia.

CANCELLATION + REFUND POLICY:

Please carefully consider your commitment before registering, as space is limited and preparation begins well in advance.

• Cancellations made 30 days or more before the workshop start date will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee.

• Cancellations made fewer than 30 days before the workshop start date are non-refundable, as materials and planning costs have already been incurred.

• No refunds or credits will be issued for no-shows or same-week cancellations.

We understand that emergencies happen. While we are unable to offer exceptions to the refund policy, if you are unable to attend, you are welcome to gift or resell your spot to another person. We will do our best to assist in filling your spot, but cannot guarantee a replacement.
