 2016 Home Collection

Herron was born out of the vision to revive American textile manufacturing by marrying an artistic process with responsibility to the land and people. As both a weaving studio and textile brand, our process is analog, designing on paper in colored pencil and gouache, hand threading looms, tying each knot and stitching each hem. Preserving and maintaining a commitment to ethical and environmental sustainability, traditional craft methodologies, and artistic process is our focus.

The blanket collection is designed and made in Chicago, IL using cotton grown on a small fiber farm in Virginia. Spun and custom dyed for Herron, this high quality cotton is grown with respect to the land and seed it sprouts from. Inspired by the abstract expressionist paintings of Agnes Martin, these blankets are like soft and sturdy cotton paintings you can wrap yourself in.

The process is a slow and thoughtful poetic language. A cycle where farmer, dyer, weaver, tailor all support each other through the shared vision of bringing this beautiful product to life.  From seed to sew, we present the Herron Spring 2016 blanket collection to you. Enjoy!

Our rugs are statement pieces that marry the interaction of bold colors to crisp lines.  The S/S16 Rug Collection is woven entirely by hand on dobby looms in our Chicago studio, using wool sourced from New England. Each is made to order, limited edition, signed and numbered.

This collection has been a labor of love. Over a year of sourcing, designing, sampling, trial and error, heartbreak, sleeplessness, travel, glorious serendipitous moments, and break-through ah-ha moments. We are proud to share it with you.
